Oriental Dance Workshop with Samara

Samara has been dedicated to the dances of the Middle East and North Africa since she was a teenager. Drawn to the dance via her Mediterranean heritage (Greek and Turkish), Samara has also studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Acting. Samara was a protégé of the late master dancer/teacher/choreographer Ibrahim Farrah and performed as a principal dancer with the Ibrahim Farrah Near East Dance Group in some of America’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center, and Town Hall. Samara is the choreographer and artistic director of dance for the Mosaic Dance Theater Company and has choreographed many theatrical productions. As a soloist Samara has performed world wide, and is a popular seminar instructor throughout the US and abroad. She teaches in New York City and is a faculty member at The Ailey Extension.
